Steps to planning your wedding
info@gswausau.orgTo assist you and help your plans go smoothly, the Good Shepherd team includes Pastor John and Pastor Nancy, wedding coordinators Barb and Jennifer, premarital counselor Greg, worship and music director Karmen and our parish administrator Alice.
Step 1: Call the church office and ask for Alice. She'll check available wedding dates and ask you to fill out an initial information sheet. After that, we need a deposit to secure your wedding date.
Step 2: One of our wedding coordinators will contact you and arrange a meeting to cover all aspects of getting married at Good Shepherd and answer any questions you may have. She will guide you from this meeting through the actual day of your wedding.
Step 3: Premarital counseling is required for any couple married at or by the pastor of Good Shepherd. Premarital counseling is a combination of inventory materials and a one-day group session offered four times each year. The sessions are led by Greg Turinetti, a member of this congregation and a licensed marriage and family therapist.
Step 4: Each couple will meet with the pastor who is scheduled to preside at your wedding. At this meeting you will discuss the nature of a Christian marriage and our available support. Details of the wedding service will be finalized.
Step 5: Your rehearsal and wedding day!
